WHO CAN JOIN?
The BLUE are generally comprised of law enforcement, firefighters, military (retired or active), emergency medical, and other service professionals.

We do not limit our membership solely to service professions. The Chicago Blue is a great club for old boys of any background to keep playing this sport we all love. There are only a few matches and tournaments that are limited exclusively to members of our profession.

DO I NEED TO KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT RUGBY?
The BLUE accept members of all skill levels. From the 15-year veteran to the guy who doesn't even know a rugby is different than a football - all are welcome! If you have a distant interest in what Rugby is all about, come to a practice and see for yourself.

PARTICIPATION
The BLUE have a liberal participation policy. We understand the priorities in your life: family first, career second, with Rugby a distant third.

All too often, your job interferes with your family and other commitments. We do not believe rugby should be something else taking you away from family and interfering with your career. We have members who attend every practice, match, and social event. We have others who attend a few practices and one match a season. ALL ARE WELCOME!

HOW DO I JOIN?
Please contact us by email or just show up to a practice or match.

CLUB UNIFORM
As part of your new membrership dues, you will receive match shorts and socks. We typically have socks and shorts in stock should you want a second set of either. You will also need a pair of boots (cleats). You can buy rugby boots easily online, but we would recommend you starting with a pair of soccer cleats if you have never tried on rugby boots (fit is important and rugby boots are hard to find in most stores). Most of our "old boys" have a pair of rugby boots for longer grass or mud, and a pair of cheap soccer cleats for short grass/hard ground.
